But honestly, I am rather refreshed by her statement. There are just so many who claim to be an epitome of 'purity' only for them to hit the tabloid headlines in due course and thereafter making all sorts of excuses.
After all, Chopra has a wonderful body and one that many men (and women) will definitely appreciate. In any case, she is known for her risque poses in many magazines already so in some ways, its perhaps a natural progression for her.
The criticism she has received for her decision has been overwhelming but to her credit, she has not been bothered by it. Personally, I like movies that are realistic, and nudity does add that element. How many times have we had to run to the phone topless or suddenly remember in the middle of the shower that we had a fire on the stove and had to rush out naked to turn it off? Then there is the most natural of human activities - sex.
I mean she is not making porn for heaven's sake. Besides, it's her body and hers to bare. The issue of principles should never even crop up because clearly her principle is to portray a realistic character in ever aspect. If nudity requires it in her role, so be it.
