BIRTHDAY BUMMER

I was at a friend's 40th birthday party last night and it's been a while since I've been to a house party. I mean I've been to many parties, small ones, but this one had like 100 guests! And the birthday cake was something like the one in the picture although the bed had posts and the woman had a see-thru top on! Kudos to the confectioner. In Singapore, that's considered racy.

So anyway, his wife threw him a surprise party and it was wild. My favourite part was the belly dancers - two of them - both local Malay girls with enormous tatas. Actually, I doubt anyone paid attention to their routine - not that it wasn't good - but it was just that tatas spilling out of tiny tops will always steal the show I gather. Hell, even I couldn't get my eyes off them.

Greg - the birthday boy - actually got hit by one of them and he did say that it gave him whiplash after but hell, which guy wouldn't want to get whiplash under those circumstances. Also, one of the girls had an equipment malfunction too which involved a bare boobie and a nipple stud! Go figure.

The main story for the night though - something which spoiled the party for me at least - was a drunkard retard who began insulting two gay guys. I found it most distasteful and if not for my significant other and another guy, who 'made' him leave, someone might have killed him.

What disturbed me most is how in this day and age, gays - guys and gals - are still treated with such disdain by some. It's so easy to say 'screw them, they're a minority who don't represent the majority' but seriously, I think such opinions, under the influence or not, are more widespread than we want to believe.

I've numerous gay friends and they are really no different from you and me. There are idiots and fools amongst them yes, but there are idiots and fools amongst heterosexuals too, or for that matter amongst bisexuals as well. If you are confident of your sexuality, why do they bother you so much. It's not like they're going to go against your wishes and jump on and rape you (although some lesbian acquaintances are known to have done so to me).

My only peeve with certain gay people I know is with those who go around lambasting the opposite sex. I know this gal who hates men to the core. It's like a broken LP playing on and on each time I meet her. Can't we all just be friends and accept each other for what we are? For her, no way. But I won't hold it against her that she's an ugly butch. I just accept her the way she is.

I laugh at how we as a species claim to be superior, sending probes to Mars, fighting high-tech wars, etc, but the most fundamental of them all - accepting each other at phase value eludes us.

Okay now that that's off my chest, its time to get off. The liquor is really hitting home soon so I'll have to get some action in before I concuss.

Missus Singapore out!
