MOOD BOOSTERS

Here is how Leisha P, a Briton who is living and working in Hong Kong keeps her moods up. The 44-year old single mother of two is a sociologist working in a local university there. I'm impressed with that there are actually academics who follow me.

"I read how someone actually wrote in previously about how she would stay away from people that irks her. I would like to reiterate that that can really make a difference to one's moods. I find men who think they know it all as my greatest source of irritation. I should know as I was married to one such man. If I am planning to meet a male friend for an intimate night, I would try my best to keep away from such men as much as I can on a personal level.

If I come into contact with them, they will tend to irritate the hell out of me and kill my mood. The last I would want to do is spend a night with the species, even if he is not the sort. So I find cleansing myself of opinionated men for the day has a fantastic affect on my libido. Some men, most men really, think they understand women and our nuances. Others even think they understand how our hormones work! So rather than to confront and try to explain things to them, I'd rather slip away and spend my precious time doing something else. Sadly, a woman still depends on a man for sex, at least for the foreseeable future."

MS:  Well Leisha, there is really nothing we can do about people with opinions so what you are doing does make a hell of a lot of sense. As for me, I won't let them bother me. I'm kind of immune to that sort of thing. I laugh it off most of the time rather than waste my energy and effort on someone who just refuses to be educated. Some try to be really intelligent but you can tell from what they are saying that they are just coughing out their egos the way many men do. Thanks for your comments and the research papers you sent. Interesting reads!

GO DOWN ON HIM

In line with what a recent reader wrote in to say, here is a cartoon that describes what she and some women I know use blows for. It's either in exchange for something or to lessen the blow of doing something wrong.

For me, a blow is sacred. It's an art form. It's a pleasure and perhaps even a hobby. You can never practice enough. And practice means exposing yourself to different subjects. The key is flexibility in your approach.

SHAME ON MODEL AGENCIES!

I remember reading a few articles several years back when there was this debate on skinny models. Major agencies had claimed they were no longer searching for skinny women in the hope that they would their parts to curb false perceptions amongst numerous young girls. The subject of anorexia nervosa and bulimia and its rising impact on teenage girls was the topic. I was all for it.

I have been slim and even thin when I was younger but it was just me. I had always been thin but when I became a model, I was shocked that I was hardly the thinnest of all. In fact, I was no where near rib-showing skinny. I often thought that something was wrong about the way these girls were. I only knew later what they were up to.

So when I read about this so-called world-wide drive my major agencies to create a healthy trend, I was pleased. However, I've noticed that it has somewhat fallen on deaf ears. Flipping through some international fashion magazines the other day, I realised that no headway has been made. And then I stumbled upon a season of America's Top Models, I think it was season 11 and was shocked at how skinny these girls were. I mean ribs and bones were showing up all over the place it was unbelievable.

Tyra of all people should know having been in the business for a long time. So I'm really disappointed by how things have transpired.  Just as I feel strongly about letting yourself grow into unhealthy proportions, I am equally against women, or girls, who just subject their bodies to such extremes. I know it is a disease but it has come about from all these perceptions that the media portrays.

What can we do? Lots.

A friend has stopped buying magazines that use such models. Spread the word and make your opinions heard about how they are a turn off. I know once the mindset gets stuck, it becomes a disease and they will no longer be aware of the harm they are doing. So if you think a family member or friend is heading that way, get help for them.

OFFICE CUP WITH A DIFFERENCE

Katrina, a friend in the media actually sent me this photo of a cup she purchased online. I love her guts! She does all sorts of crazy things and even has this cup in her office.

I would have thought it might have attracted more male visitors to her cubicle but strangely enough, the men have stopped coming over to her - she is one sexy bitch - and flirting. She got tired of that and found this to actually turn them away. So much for the daring male!

Ironically, many of her female friends have started to come over to her workstation and have had their fingers all over the thing.

GO CELTICS!

Just got word that a friend of ours from New York is coming to these parts in November. She used to be a former Celtics cheer-dancer back in 2005. Obviously with my hubby a die-hard Celtics fan, he is ecstatic. This is the fourth time we are meeting her. The first time was when we met up in Bali in 2004 and thereafter when we were taken around New York when we visited. But me and her have kept in constant contact via email since.

But more to that, she has a body to die for and I'm not sure if the hubby is more thrilled about the fact that she rubbed shoulders with some of his favourites or for her curves. Probably the latter. But seriously, have you seen some of these women? They are hot!
But what he doesn't know and I'll leave her to tell him is that she actually supports the Knicks! LOL! Trust us, we will probably be having lots of sweaty fun! All I can do now is don the cap colours!

Gay (Orgy) Haiku

One of the blog readers sent me these poems from the book "Gay Haiku" by Joel Derfner. LMAO reading them. Here are a few...

Break from the orgy:
Stand nude in the kitchen and
Discuss Top Model.

Group sex would be great
If it weren't for this sad truth:
People have elbows.

"I have a boyfriend."
We've been talking three hours.
You are a bastard.

The salmon's divine,
But I'm afraid we can't stay—
I fucked our waiter.

Lots more funny ones, so check out "Gay Haiku" by Joel Derfner
