Siew Hwa, 44, from Singapore writes in with her suggestion on how she gets into the mood for sex.

"I'm not sure if this only works for me but I realised that each time my husband and I go out to a quiet place for a walk or just to sit down like at the beach, we tend to get really in to the mood for sex. It has to be quiet, just us two and our moods to get intimate rise. We have three kids and my mother-in-law lives with us so it tends to be rare for us to sit down on the couch and enjoy a quiet time at home.

It is not that we don't have sex at other times but each time we come back from such an outing, we are really into each other. The best sex we have had has definitely come after we had gone out on a quiet 'date' like that. In fact, even before we reach home, our hands are all over each other."

MS: I fully agree. With the hectic lifestyles many of us live, quiet time together is really a luxury. It is as if all our senses return to the raw and we revisit with our raw instincts too. Keep up those quiet moments. All I can say is it would be best if the two of you avoid visiting the library together.

LET'S DO MUTUAL

I read quite often how mutual masturbation is deemed as a useful way to build the intimacy between couples. If your sex lives have hit a wall, perhaps it can be helpful to jump-start it. Or if you are just off the mark with your sexual journey, I'll say fine.

To some extent, I agree. Well, for one, its safe. Secondly, its quite an experience to sit back a little and watch how a guy gets off by himself (not that I don't know!) and vice versa. Thirdly,...well there is no other reason for me.
