Finally, the debacle that is the Commonwealth Games is finally over. I've honestly never followed a games so much in my life, although I have to say, it wasn't the sports that caught my attention. But the top of the story has to be the clogged drainage system due to athletes throwing condoms down the toilet.

The good thing is that safe sex is the order of the day. The bad news is that this is verification that athletes by and large are idiots. People are so quick to condemn the Indian organisers. Yes, they have had their challenges no doubt but the idiots who decide to flush condoms down the toilet really need to be taken to task.

For heaven's sake dispose of them caps the right way, swallow them after use!

CONDOMS SAVED THE DAY

Check out this week's video. It's another demonstration of how condoms can really save the day. I wonder just how many of you guys keep condoms in your car. I know of some guys who always come prepared with a condom or two stashed away in their wallets.

I was quite amused one time as a guy had a box of condoms in his bag. I was impressed thinking that he was a several rounder only to find out later that the reason behind it was he just didn't know how to use it properly. Hence why he needed several as a fail safe.

Based on the latest poll on safe sex, it appears that safe sex is on the rise! Kudos to all of you and its good to know.

In total 76 readers responded to the question 'How do you practice safe sex?'

51% use condoms

10% use the female version (presumably all female or I would be worried!)

31% don't use condoms at all.

In the previous poll in 2008, only 49% said they used protection.

Condom Recall

Chinese authorities have shut down a condom plant, saying it was producing unsafe and tainted rubbers.

Now, officials are looking for more than two million condoms that were produced by this plant and sold under brand names such as Durex and Jissbon, according to Australia's ABC News.

Officials say manufacturer Li Anping bought wholesale condoms, added an "unknown" lubricant and then repackaged them without sterilizing them. He also had underage girls working in his condom factory, according to the report.

MS: Hey, I think some guys I know may have used these condoms. How does one recall condoms? I don't have any idea but I do suspect it will be a really sticky affair!

There seems to be lots of things getting recalled these days. A friend of mine actually asked if one could get their husband recalled?

USE A BLADDER PLEASE!

Imagine wearing a condom made from animal intestines? Well, according to several of my male friends, the thought of it is reason enough not to want to have sex. To that regard, I guess it served its purpose. After all the best prevention for unwanted pregnancy is not to have sex at all!

I wonder what women used to say back then before sex? These days it's probably 'Baby, you got your rubber?' or something along those lines. Back then, it had to be something like 'Honey, you got your bladder on?'

But seriously, what about the women? How must they have felt with that in them? It was also known to break out into little pieces during the act. The whole idea might have been repulsive which probably helped with birth control or encouraged more people not to wear them - so an explosion of unwanted pregnancies.
