I got to know this young woman from a press conference last week and she really caught me by surprise when she came up to me to as 'Are you Missus Singapore?'
Now, for someone who doesn't actively publicise my site, that really came as a surprise for me. To address me by my website monicker was certainly intriguing.
In a way I was kinda pleased because I figured at least there was one soul out there who knows about my site. Still, the scant number of photos of me kept me wondering how she recognised me as Missus Singapore.
Curiously, I asked her and she told me that her husband was a frequent visitor to my site and even described the few photos of me that I did post. For a moment, I swear I could see flashing neon lights about my head. My moment of fame.
She even insisted I sign on her notebook with a personal message to her just stir the envy of her husband. She actually offered to buy me dinner with her husband to show that she did actually meet me. Can you imagine the fuss over moi? But I didn't mind. Besides, another free meal was on the cards so why should I care?
I went to bed that night feeling like a star but when I woke up the next morning, the need to clean up my cats' kitty-litter brought me down to earth in a flash. Well, it was good while it lasted.
